Our Learning Journey
Below you will find out about our learning journey this term.
English
This term, our English lessons are inspired by the gripping wartime tale, Letters from the Lighthouse. The children recently transported themselves back to the 1940s to write powerful diary entries about being evacuated from London. While capturing the emotions of the era, they also mastered the use of brackets for parenthesis and subordinating conjunctions to enhance their writing style. Here are some amazing examples of the work:

Maths
Our mathematicians are in full "revision mode" as we count down to SATs in May! This half term, the children have been tackling some of the more advanced areas of the curriculum, including the logic of algebra and the relationship between numbers in ratio. We have also been navigating the coordinate plane, mastering translations and reflections across all four quadrants. Their determination to sharpen these skills is fantastic to see!
Curriculum
This half term, our classroom has transformed into a Renaissance studio! The children have been studying the mastery of Leonardo da Vinci, focusing on his scientific approach to art. They have spent time practicing the delicate art of realistic sketching, specifically honing their skills in drawing facial features like eyes, noses, and mouths. After all this careful observation and practice, we are incredibly excited to see them apply these techniques to their upcoming self-portraits.
